Waywide explained

What fare freshness means at Waywide

When a price was found matters. Here’s how we plan to make it clear.

Updated · Waywide

When was that price found?

A flight price can change after it is found. Knowing when it was checked helps you judge how recent the information is.

Waywide is pre-launch. We are not showing flight prices yet. These are the principles we will use as we test the service.

Show where a price came from

Each displayed fare should name its source and show when it was found. Opening the page again must not make an old price look new.

A recorded price is not a reserved seat

Finding a fare does not hold it for you. A price found earlier and a price just checked with an airline are different things; we should make that difference clear.

Before booking, confirm the total price, dates, baggage and conditions with the airline or travel provider.

What if a price is old, or a check fails?

We are still testing how recent prices need to be and how often we can check them. We will set those rules from the results, rather than promise a checking schedule now.

If a check fails, that does not mean no suitable flights exist. The service should explain that it could not complete the check.

What does this mean for alerts?

A flight must fit your trip and be recent enough to be useful before it is suitable for an alert. We are testing both parts. We do not yet offer alerts or promise instant updates.
